The Pittsburgh Tatler, Wendy Arons, “Chase scenes aplenty are facilitated by Chelsea Warren’s portrait-bedecked set, which has eight doors on a revolving platform, allowing for all the things characters in farce do with doors, and Jackie Fox’s lighting design underscores the cartoonishness with sharp colorful contrasts between scenes.”
Trib Live, Alexis Papalia, “The show utilizes a turntable stage to move the action through various White House rooms. It was highly effective both for the plot and for some great jokes. The set design, in general, was functional and realistic, thanks to scenic designer Chelsea M. Warren. Lighting designer Jackie Fox was able to do a lot with cool patriotic lighting between scenes and a fun rock concert-style musical performance.”
Broadway World, Greg Kerestan: “Anything you think you've come to expect from City Theatre, check it at the door when you come see POTUS. What you are about to see, in terms of both performance and production value, is Broadway-tier theatre on a South Side budget. If I'd seen this same physical production in New York, I'd have said I got my money's worth and more, and that's without even factoring in the cast. To say I'm blown away is an understatement.”
